Combining innovative design, cutting-edge fire safety, and sustainability, the Zenger facility represents a major step forward in storage solutions. Built in record time by STM Design & Build, demonstrates its ability to deliver excellence under tight deadlines while exceeding customer expectations.
From the initial design concept to final delivery, our engineering team played a key role in the Zenger project. We collaborated closely with STM Design & Build and the client to ensure the architectural and structural designs met all technical and safety requirements. Our engineers selected fireproof, FM Global-approved systems and ensured the implementation of fully insulated wall paneling to meet stringent industry standards.
Our engineering team focused on maximizing the Zenger facility's storage capacity by optimizing the design of the building’s shape and size. We engineered a flexible layout with strategically placed columns to create open, efficient workspaces. Our goal was to enhance operational workflows while maintaining the highest safety standards.
Sustainability was central to the Zenger project. The facility features a 29.5 kWp solar power installation that powers essential systems, minimizing reliance on external energy sources. Insulated panels, local infrared heating, and Zumtobel LED lighting further enhance energy efficiency. These features ensure that the facility is ready to meet current and future environmental standards.
Our engineering team worked closely with STM to ensure smooth communication and fast decision-making throughout the project. With full responsibility for the engineering scope, we delivered a high-quality solution for realization which took just 8 months. Our commitment to safety, efficiency, and precision ensured that the project was completed on time and within budget, while consistently exceeding safety and performance expectations.
Below is a detailed overview of the project’s specifications and unique features.
The facility’s storage hall and office spaces are designed for practicality and durability. The hall features high-quality insulated paneling, while the 157 m2 office area is finished to industry standards, providing a functional and professional workspace.
This project stands out due to its FM Global-approved design and innovative roof-integrated sprinkler system, offering unparalleled fire safety. The 24 meter free span ensures maximum storage efficiency, while earthquake zone structural design adds resilience. By optimizing the building layout to align with the storage system, STM achieved a seamless balance of functionality and safety. The integration of solar power and infrared heating underscores the facility’s commitment to sustainability.
